Razer ID verified by World ID: Be Verified As Human

To promote fair play and genuine human interaction, we rely on proof of human verification from World ID and World App. Here’s what you need to know:
  • You can choose between Orb verification or using an NFC-enabled Identification Document (“ID”) (e.g., passport or ID card) in the World App if you wish to verify.
  • We receive a ‘zero knowledge proof’ as a confirmation that a specific user has been verified as human. This means the confirmation does not contain any personal data about you, which maintains your confidentiality.
  • No personal data is shared between Razer and World; we do not receive any personal information with which you verified your identity from World.
  • When you scan the QR code, you'll be redirected to World's App and leave the Razer platform. Your Razer personal data remains intact and is not transferred to World.
  • Your use of World is subject to World's terms and conditions.
  • Upon successful verification, Razer may display a human badge on your account within our ecosystem.
  • You use the World App 'as is' and based on World’s terms and condition. Razer is not responsible for World App or infrastructure.
  • Razer receives a fee from World for user referrals.
  • Razer does not endorse, supervise, or assume responsibility for rewards, promotions, or benefits offered by World or its affiliates. World operates as an independent entity, and all of World’s rewards, promotions or benefits – including eligibility criteria, distribution, or revocation – are determined solely by World.

FAQs

What is the World App verification process?

World App offers two verification methods: Orb verification or using an NFC-enabled ID (e.g., passport or ID card). You can choose which method you prefer although Orb verification is a higher verification level which provides higher assurance that you are a verified unique human.

What personal data does Razer receive from World?

Razer does not receive any personal data from World with which you verified your identity. We only receive a confirmation that a specific user has been verified as human.

How does Razer identify who completed the verification?

When you click on "Verify with World ID" in your user account, we generate a temporary secure session that allows World to send an encrypted verification status to Razer. This unique proof allows us to associate any new verifications completed in the future as well.

Does Razer know how I verified my humanness with World?

The verification proof received by Razer includes the verification level achieved (e.g. orb or document) but does not disclose any of the personal data used in such verification.

How is my privacy protected during verification?

Razer and World operate separately. We do not share personal data, and while we can identify users who have completed verification, we cannot access any personal information regarding how that verification was conducted by World. Only you have access to any personal information used for verification on World, which remains on your phone and is not shared with Razer.

World ID is a digital proof of human technology that allows you to anonymously and securely verify that you are a real and unique human online. World ID is private and anonymous. World does not know who you are, only that you’re unique. Learn more about World and World ID here.

How does this verification benefit me?

Proof of Human helps ensure our gamers are interacting with real humans on our platform, promoting genuine interactions and a fair gaming environment.

Can I use Razer's service without World verification?

Yes, you can use Razer services without verification. Verification is optional but provides additional benefits.

How often do I need to verify?

On the World App, you can only verify at each level (Orb or document) once. After any successful verification, your Razer ID account will be marked as verified.

What if I have concerns about World's data practices?

While we've partnered with World for verification, they manage their own data practices separately. Please refer to World's privacy policy for specifics about how they handle your data.

Can I request deletion of my verification data?

  • For World verification data: Please refer to World’s privacy policy for specifics.
  • For Razer account data:
    1. You can exercise your data subject rights (including requesting erasure) at any time for personal data held by Razer.
To do so, please follow the process outlined in our Privacy Policy.
    2. Contact our support team to remove the verified status from your account if desired.

Note that we may need to retain certain personal data to comply with legal obligations (e.g., for warranty claims).

Is this verification process GDPR compliant?

Yes, our process is designed to comply with GDPR. Razer receives only a confirmation of human verification linked to a unique identifier, with no personal data transferred in our interaction with World.

Does Razer receive any benefits from World for user verifications?

However, this arrangement does not affect the privacy and security measures in place to protect your personal data. Razer only receives a confirmation of verification which does not contain any personal data about the user. Razer does not have access to any personal data you use during your verification process with World.

Will Razer provide technical support for the processes on World?

Troubleshooting

I didn’t receive a verification prompt after installing and onboarding the World App.

  • Make sure you have the latest World App.
  • Try restarting the app and checking for the verification prompt.
  • Try refreshing your Razer ID account page & rescanning the QR code. Do not close the QR code until you have completed the process.
  • On iOS, if you skipped phone number verification when you first scanned the QR code, the system will not recognize your referral from Razer. Please re-scan the QR again.

I have verified on World ID but my Razer ID still shows “Unverified (account linked)”.

  • Make sure you are verified with either Orb or NFC-enabled document.
  • If you just verified, try refreshing your Razer ID account page, it may take few minutes to reflect.
  • You can re-scan the QR code to manually send Razer your latest verification status.
