This answer shows steps to help fix defective or unresponsive touchscreen on your Blade.

Malfunctioning or non-responding touch screens are usually caused by hardware issues. As there is no way to check for any loose connection or deformities in the hardware without voiding the warranty, we recommend that you contact Razer Support.

However, there are also instances that the issue can be solved by a software update. Refer to the following steps first before sending in your device for repairs.

  1. Ensure Windows is up to date. See How to get the latest software and driver updates from Windows.

If you just updated Windows, please install the "Optional updates" under Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options.

  2. Restart the device and test if the issue is still present after the reboot.

  3. Check if the touchscreen driver itself is enabled. To do this, right-click on the Start button, then select "Device Manager."

    device manager

  4. Under Device Manager, select and expand “Human Interface Devices”. Right-click “HID-compliant touch screen”.

  5. Enable the device if it is currently disabled.

    enable device

  6. Disable the device if it is currently enabled, restart the Razer Blade, then re-enable the setting again.

  7. Update the driver to check for any available updates.

  8. Uninstall the device, then restart the Razer Blade to reinstall the driver

  9. If the issue persists, consider performing a system recovery or factory reset.
