Razer Blade does not have power, won't boot up, power on, or turn on

This answer will show you ways to troubleshoot your Razer Blade if it does not turn on.

If the Razer Blade has a blank screen or not turning on, it could be caused by a loose or misaligned power adapter or the power source has no power at all.

Symptoms:

  • The indicator light on the power adapter does NOT light up, and the indicator light of the Razer Blade is OFF.
  • The indicator light on the power adapter lights up, and the Razer Blade is UNABLE to turn ON and its indicator light is OFF.
  • The indicator light of the Razer Blade lights up but does NOT wake up or respond after being set to sleep mode or turned off.
  • The display backlight is up but the screen is blank.

Note: The 2025 Razer Blade models do not have an LED indicator on the shipped power adapter.

Step-by-step process

  1. Check the cord, power outlet, and adapter and ensure that all are snugged well. A misaligned plug can sometimes lead to a loose connection hindering the power to pass through.

  2. Test another device on your power source. This will help rule out that your Razer device is not turning on because of lacking power from the power source.

  3. Check the LED of either the laptop or the power adapter if it is turned on.

    • If the power adapter’s LED is off and the power source is confirmed to have power, the adapter could be defective. You can purchase a replacement at RazerStore.
    • If the power adapter’s LED is on but the laptop’s LED is off, unplug the power adapter for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. This is to ensure that the power adapter is working.

  4. If the device will not power on, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds or until the power indicator blinks white. Do this with the charger plugged into the laptop.

  5. Press the power button to power up again.

At times, the Razer Blade will not wake up after being set to sleep mode, follow the troubleshooting steps outlined:

  1. Reset the Razer Blade.

    1. Plug the Razer Blade to its charger.
    2. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.
    3. While still holding the power button, unplug the charger.
    4. Release the power button.
    5. Leave the system sitting for a few seconds.
    6. Plug the charger again.
    7. Press the power button to power it back on.

      Note: At the 10-second mark, the LED on your Razer Blade might blink or flash.
