My Razer headset's microphone does not pick up my voice or audio

This is a guide on how to troubleshoot a Razer headset microphone that is not picking up audio.

Select Windows version

Windows 10

  1. Click on "Start", then type "Manage Audio Devices" in the search box. Hit "Enter".

  2. Click the "Recording" tab.

  3. Verify that your headset is set as the default device.

Windows 11

  1. Press Windows key then type “Manage audio input devices”.

  2. Set your Razer headset as the correct input device.

Additional Troubleshooting:

  • Ensure your Razer headset is selected as the input device in-game.
  • If you are using a 3rd-party chat application such as Discord or Skype, check if the “Push-To-Talk” setting is checked. If enabled, this setting will not allow the user to send audio without pressing a specific key/s.
  • Ensure the microphone headset is not muted on your Razer headset’s in-line control.
