This guide shows the latest version of the Razer Blade 16” (2025) vBIOS updater and how to install it successfully to your system.

A vBIOS updater is a utility used to flash new firmware onto the video BIOS of the laptop's discrete GPU, typically an NVIDIA GPU in Razer Blade models. These new updates fix bugs (e.g., black screen issues, coil whine, thermal throttling problems), improve stability, support new display configurations, or unlock/patch specific hardware behaviors after a driver or hardware revision.

Step-by-step Process

Before you start

  1. Ensure Windows is up to date. See How to get the latest software and driver updates from Windows.

If you just updated Windows, install the "Optional updates" under Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options.

  2. Plug the Razer Blade into a wall outlet. Do not let it run on battery alone before proceeding.

  3. Save any open documents on your computer.

  4. Close all other programs.

  5. Download the latest vBIOS updater.

Update process

  1. Run the updater.

  2. Click “Yes” if the User Account Control window pops up to proceed.

Important: If the Blade Updater window appears with details regarding your current update version and the version that your Razer Blade laptop will be updated to, do not run Windows Update.

  3. Click "UPDATE" to initiate the update process.

Note: Control of your mouse and keyboard during the updating process will be lost temporarily. You will not be able to proceed if you already have the latest software installed.

A progress bar will appear indicating the status of the installation process. During installation, you will not be able to access other applications.

The Blade will restart a few times and will automatically boot to Windows once the update is complete.

Important: Do not force restart or shut down the Blade during this process.
