Most Razer Blade models use a ML1220 rechargeable coin cell battery, except for the Razer Blade 15 (2020), which uses a CR2032 CMOS battery.
Needed tools and parts:
- 1x Torx head (T5) Screwdriver
- Spudger
- Opening pick
- CMOS battery
Follow the steps below to replace the CMOS battery on your Razer Blade.

Power off the Razer Blade then unplug all connections including the power adapter.

Flip the device over a flat surface.

Use a T5 screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the back cover. Be careful not to use excessive force.
Note: Do not use an electric screwdriver.

Slide an opening pick along the side of the cover to avoid damaging internal parts, then slide the back cover downward to remove it.

Use a spudger or pick to disconnect the battery connector, avoiding stress on the flex cable.

Replace the CMOS battery in the Razer Blade.
Coin Cell CMOS battery
- Push the latch slightly to remove the coin cell battery. It should pop out.
- Insert the new coin cell battery, applying slight pressure until it clicks into place.

CMOS battery with a 2-pin wired connector
- Hold the wires near the 2-PIN connector and gently pull it out.
- Align the connector and gently push it back while holding the wires to put it back.

Connect the battery connector.

Secure the back cover.
