This is a guide on how you can properly install Software Updates on your Razer Blade 15” Advanced (2020) & Studio Edition (2020).

Razer has added a new performance mode for the Razer Blade 15" Advanced (2020) and Razer Blade 15" Studio Edition (2020) called Boost. To take full advantage of this feature, you will need to update your Razer Synapse and install an Embedded Controller (EC) update. With this update, you will have the option to choose among the following CPU performance modes: Low, Medium, High, and Boost.

Please note that this update only applies to Razer Blade 15" Advanced (2020) and Razer Blade 15" Studio Edition (2020) model numbers that starts with RZ09-0330x.

Required Updates

  1. Ensure Windows is up to date. See How to get the latest software and driver updates from Windows.

    If you just updated Windows, please install the "Optional updates" under Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options.

  2. Ensure Razer Synapse has all the latest updates installed.

    1. In the system tray, right-click on the Razer Synapse logo then select “Check for Updates”.

    2. Install the latest updates for Razer Synapse.

  3. Download and install the latest EC update for your Razer Blade 15" Advanced (2020) and Razer Blade 15" Studio Edition (2020).

    1. Download the latest EC Updater.

    2. Open the file and follow the onscreen prompts.

    3. Restart your computer.
