This article shows troubleshooting steps to resolve excessive fan noise on the Razer Blade 14" (2016) Intel 6700HQ-GTX 1060.

Razer has released a firmware update that will adjust the timing and speed of your fans. This update reduces the fan noise coming from your Razer Blade 14" (2016) Intel 6700HQ-GTX 1060. Other than the fan adjustments, this will not affect the performance of your Blade in any way.

This updater is intended for use with model numbers starting with RZ09-01952. This firmware will update your firmware version to 0.38.16. Do not attempt to use this firmware on any other model. You can view your model number by looking at the bottom panel of your Razer Blade 2016.

Important:

  • Be sure to read and follow these installation instructions in performing the necessary updates.
  • Close Razer Synapse and other running applications before proceeding with this update.
