There is a slight buzzing or hissing sound on the Razer headset when no audio is playing

This answer explains why you hear a slight buzzing sound on your headset even if there is no audio playing.
Grounded USB connection within computers causes buzzing sound. This is not on the headset itself. Not all USB ports on the same system do this, so we recommend switching to a different USB port. If all your USB ports have the same issue, you need to purchase an AC to USB converter.

On laptops, the buzzing sound is louder because of the way USB ports are connected internally. If you turn up the volume of your Razer headset to higher levels and have no audio player, you will hear the same buzzing sound. Unless it is abnormally loud and still audible when audio is played through the headset, this would be considered normal, and you will notice this sound when using any high-quality analog headset that can reproduce these higher frequencies.
