How to adjust or change the display refresh rate on a Razer Blade

This is a step-by-step guide on how to change the display refresh rate of your Razer Blade.

Refresh rate is the number of times per second an image refreshes on the screen measured in Hertz. The higher the refresh rate, the better and smoother the gaming or viewing experience will be.

Important: A higher refresh rate contributes to higher battery consumption. Adjusting the refresh rate to the lowest value can help maximize the capacity of your Razer Blade's battery.

Select a method

Adjust the refresh rate in Razer Synapse 

Note: Ensure your Razer Blade is running the latest version of Razer Synapse. See How to manually check for updates on Razer Synapse for more details.

Step-by-step process

  1. Launch Razer Synapse.

  2.  Select your device and go to "PERFORMANCE".

  3. Select the "Dedicated GPU only" option under "GPU MODE", if applicable. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.

    Note: The most recent blades such as Razer Blade 15" Advanced (2021) | RZ09-0409, Razer Blade 17" (2021) | RZ09-0406, and Razer Blade 15" Base (2021) | RZ09-0410 have up to 360 Hz laptop screen refresh rate.

  4. Restart the Razer Blade.

  5. Re-launch Razer Synapse.

  6. Select your device and click "PERFORMANCE".

  7. Select your preferred refresh rate from the "LAPTOP SCREEN REFRESH RATE" option.

You should now have successfully adjusted the refresh rate on your Razer Blade through Synapse.

Adjust the refresh rate in Windows

Important: In some Blade models, you will need to set the GPU mode to "Dedicated GPU only" in BIOS or Synapse (if available) before you can adjust your display refresh rate. Step-by-step process

  1. Go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced display settings.

  2. Select the display that you want to change settings for.

  3. Choose your preferred refresh rate from the dropdown menu below.

  4. Click "Keep changes".

You should now have successfully adjusted the refresh rate on your Razer Blade through the Windows Settings.

Adjust the refresh rate in NVIDIA Control Panel

Important: Some Blade models require setting the GPU mode to "Dedicated GPU only" in BIOS, Synapse (if available), or Nvidia Control Panel (for models with DDS or Dynamic Display Switching) before you can adjust your display refresh rate. Step-by-step process

  1. Right-click on your desktop then select "NVIDIA Control Panel".

  3. Select the display and appropriate resolution under "PC".

  5. Click "Apply".
