If a Razer headset has poor or no audio while connected to a gaming console, it may be caused by either hardware or software issues such as dirt or debris in audio ports and on the audio jack, improperly plugged-in audio jack, hub connections, incorrect playback device levels or settings.

3.5 mm Headsets
When using any 3.5 mm headset with a gaming console (for example: PS4, Xbox One, and the like), the game/chat balance or mixer is controlled by the console. Some controllers have the game/chat mixer and volume controls built-in. In this case, these levels can be modified via the controller. You may refer to your console's manuals.
You may also try the following workarounds:
-
Ensure the headset and audio source are not muted in both the volume control and audio settings. Increase the volume until the level is sufficient.
-
Check the headset is set to be the default playback device in the Audio Control panel or Software Audio Options.
-
Try disconnecting the headset from the bottom of the controller then reconnect it firmly.
Note: Never pull on the headset cable when trying to disconnect the headset from the controller. Instead, disconnect it by pulling on the body of the headset plug.
-
Attempt to increase the volume level of the headset by going to your console's settings and looking for your controller's audio settings, and adjusting it from there.
-
Try to connect the headset to an alternate device like a laptop or mobile phone to confirm there is no hardware fault with the headset.
-
If you connected the headset to a controller's audio jack, try connecting the headset to a different controller or directly to the console. Check your controller's manufacturer for any FW updates. Go to Razer Controller Support for firmware updates and other information.

Ensure that your Razer headset is selected as an audio input and output in your gaming console's audio settings.

For PS4, go to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices.
