Step-by-step process on how to set up the Razer Katana
Tool needed:
- Phillips head screwdriver
Important: Proceed with due caution to avoid electric shocks. For safety purposes, wear an anti-static wrist strap (not included) to avoid damaging the internal components of your PC.
-
Identify which cable connectors you will need for your system. Since the Razer Katana is a fully modular PSU, you will only need to use the cables necessary to power up your PC. Here are some of the most common cable connectors used in PCs.
- 24-pin mainboard – sends power to the entire board
- 8-pin CPU – sends power to the CPU
- 4+4-pin CPU – extra pin for high core count CPUs or heavy overclocking
- 6+2-pin PCIe – sends power to the graphics card
- SATA – sends power to SATA storage devices and more
- 4-pin Molex – sends power to fans and other devices
- ARGB link – sends signal to your ARGB hub or controller
- Floppy – sends power to the floppy drive

-
Plug the cable connectors into the Razer Katana. Check the connector and socket labels to ensure appropriate connection.
Note: Use only the cable connectors that came together with the Razer Katana.

-
Install the Razer Katana to the intended mounting location in your PC case. Secure it with screws. If you are unsure of the location or mounting orientation, refer to your PC case user manual.
-
Attach the cable connectors to the motherboard and other PC components. Route the cables accordingly.
-
Connect the power cable to the Razer Katana.
-
Plug the power cable into the power outlet.
-
Turn the Razer Katana switch on.
The Razer Katana has a “Zero RPM Mode” feature that automatically turns on or off its fan depending on your system’s temperature. Set the switch to "ON" if you want it enabled.

-
Power up your PC once ready.
-
Use Razer Synapse to customize the lighting effects of the Razer Katana when connected with the Razer ARGB Controller. If not, use the software that came with your motherboard.
