How to activate and use 7.1 Surround Sound

This article is a guide on how to activate and use the 7.1 Surround sound on your Razer headset.

 

Ensure you have the following before getting started:

  • Windows 64-bit operating system
  • Internet connection for initial Razer ID login and activation

Where can I find the 7.1 Surround Sound activation code

Depending on your device, the 7.1 Surround Sound activation code comes in two forms:

  • Scratch card that is included in the device packaging.
  • Email that will be sent to you after a successful product registration.

Activate 7.1 Surround Sound

  1. Download the 7.1 Surround Sound software.

  2. Run the 7.1 Surround Sound installer.

  3. Click “INSTALL”.

  4. Launch the 7.1 Surround Sound app when the installation is completed.

  5. Log in with your Razer ID.

  6. Enter the activation code that came with your purchase.

  7. Click “ACTIVATE”.

Set 7.1 Surround Sound as default playback device

  1. Go to Settings > System > Sound.

  2. Select "Speakers (7.1 Surround Sound)" as the output device.

  3. Launch the 7.1 Surround Sound software.

  4. Select the output device that you would like to apply 7.1 Surround Sound on.

  5. Select the system's onboard audio playback device if you are using an analog headset connected via the system's 3.5 mm port.

  6. Select “Sound Control Panel” under “Related Settings” to ensure that "Spatial sound" is turned off.

    1. Right-click on the playback device where the 7.1 Surround Sound is active, then select “Properties”.

    2. Go to the “Spatial sound” tab.

    3. Confirm that “Off” is selected from the drop-down list under the “Spatial sound format”.

    4. Click “Apply” then “OK”.
