Mic quality on the Razer headset dropped after Windows 10 October 2018 update

This article provides information about mic quality on the Razer headset dropped after Windows 10 October 2018 update.

This is a known issue where the new Windows update changed the default settings for the Headset Microphone properties. To fix this, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray at the bottom right of your desktop, then click “Sounds”.

  2. Go to Recording tab, then double-click on the "Headset Microphone".

  3. Go to Advanced tab and select “16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)” under the Default format.

  4. Click “Apply” to save settings, then click “OK”.
