How to clean your Razer devices

This article is a comprehensive guide on how to clean your Razer devices(ex. mouse, keyboard, laptop, headset, chair, etc..).

Important Note: Avoid using isopropyl alcohol or any alcohol-based cleaning solution.

Razer Mouse and mouse sensor

  1. Unplug all connections. If your mouse connects via a dongle, disconnect the dongle and switch off the mouse.

  2. Clean the body of your mouse using a lint-free microfiber cloth. Wipe the surface of your mouse gently but thoroughly.

  3. Clean the mouse sensor using a handheld blower or a can of compressed air.

Important:

  • Do not use any liquid to clean it as this may cause permanent damage to the sensor.
  • Avoid storing the mouse in direct sunlight.

Razer Mouse Mat

If you notice any visible dirt buildup on your mat:

  1. Use a lint-free microfiber cloth.

  2. Lightly dip it in tap water.

  3. Wipe your mat in circular motion.

If you are using a Razer Chroma-powered mat:

  1. Unplug it from your system.

  2. Let it dry for at least five minutes before using the mouse mat again.

  3. Clean the feet of your mouse regularly for the best possible glide.

Important:

  • Do not use soap or harsh cleaning agents.
  • Do not place your mat in the washing machine or clean it under running water.
  • Do not fold, roll, or compress the mouse mat.

Razer Blade

For Razer Blades:

  1. Turn off your Razer Blade and unplug your power adapter.

  2. Disconnect all external devices such as mice, keyboards, or monitors.

  3. Take a lint-free microfiber cloth and wipe the surface of your laptop gently but thoroughly.

  4. Hold the unit upside down or use compressed air to blow off dust to clean under the keycaps. Do not remove the keycaps from your Razer Blade.

  5. Clean your laptop screen by using a cleaning solution made specifically for monitors.

Important: Never submerge your Razer Blade in any type of liquid. Doing so will void its warranty.

For Air Vents:

  • Rest the Razer Blade on a solid flat surface to keep the air vents clear from obstructions to maximize airflow.

  • Regularly clean the Razer Blade's air vents to prevent the accumulation of dust.

    • Hold the device upside down and use compressed air to dislodge any clumps of dust that are clogging the vents.

Razer Keyboard

  1. Unplug your keyboard from your system. If your device has a passthrough port, disconnect the devices connected to them as well.

  2. Take a lint-free microfiber cloth.

  3. Ensure the surface is free of any visible dust or debris before cleaning. Wiping debris into the surface can lead to minor scratches.

  4. Remove the keycaps if your Razer keyboard has removable keycaps. Otherwise, turn the keyboard upside down and use compressed air to blow off any accumulated dust or debris.

Note: Never submerge your keyboard in any type of liquid.

Razer Phone

  1. Unplug all your cables and turn your device off.

  2. Take a lint-free microfiber cloth and gently wipe the surface of your phone.

  3. Ensure there are no big, solid particles on the surface of your device before doing so. Visible dirt could act as grit that may scratch the surface of your device.

For phone cases:
  1. Remove the case from your phone.

  2. Brush off any dust trapped inside especially in the corners of the case.

  3. Use a mixture of water and soap to remove stubborn dirt, grease, or residue.

  4. Avoid using Isopropyl alcohol or any alcohol-based cleaning solution.

  5. Make sure the case is dry before putting it back on your phone.

Razer Audio Peripheral

  1. Take a lint-free microfiber cloth and gently wet it with a mild soap and water solution.

  2. Never use solvents such as thinner or benzene to clean your Razer device.

  3. To clean your headset:

    1. Use the microfiber cloth to wipe your headset in circular motion.

    2. Clean the inner earcup with the microfiber cloth, too.

    3. Do not scrub the surface of your Razer headset.

    4. For stubborn dirt, dilute your regular detergent with water and soak the cloth for a few minutes.

    5. Make sure to squeeze the water out of the cloth well before using it to wipe away the dirt from the headphones.

    6. Do not let any liquid inside the ear cup and into the speaker itself.

  4. To clean your earbuds:

    1. Remove any attached silicone tips.

    2. Wipe the earbuds using a microfiber cloth.

    3. Clean the silicone tips and cords.

    4. Remove the debris from the grill of the earbuds.

    5. Clean the contacts on the earbuds and the case using a Q-tip with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol.

    6. Allow the alcohol to dry before putting the earbuds to charge.

  5. To clean your speakers:

    1. Unplug your device from the power source and disconnect any connected devices.

    2. Wipe the surface of your speaker unit with the microfiber cloth.

Razer Controller

  1. Unplug all connections and switch off your controller.

  2. Take a lint-free microfiber cloth and gently but thoroughly wipe the surface of your controller with the microfiber cloth.

  3. Use compressed air to blow dust away from the controller’s hard-to-reach areas.

Razer Gaming Chair

For chairs made of EPU Synthetic Leather and PVC leather:

  • Use a soft or microfiber cloth with a bit of warm water to wipe away dirt.

  • Clean the stain immediately.

    1. Wipe the stained area with a clean microfiber cloth. Do not use any rough abrasives.

    2. Use a soft brush and gently agitate the stain with mild leather cleaner. Do not use any harsh chemicals.

    3. Wipe the cleaning agent off.

    Note: Completely air-dry the chair before use.

For chairs made of mesh:

  • Use a soft or microfiber cloth with a bit of warm water to wipe away dirt. Completely air-dry the chair before use.

  • Use a soft brush to remove crumbs, dust, and grime.

For chairs made of Alcantara:

  1. Use a soft brush or dry cloth to dust the chair. Alternatively, use a vacuum cleaner.

  2. Wipe the chair with a damp white cotton cloth. Do not use colored cloth to avoid color transfer or staining the material.

  3. Completely air-dry the chair before use.
