How to perform battery calibration on your Razer Blade

| Answer ID: 14281
This answer shows you what battery calibration is and how to do it on your Razer Blade.

Battery calibration resets the battery gauge to accurately reflect its true charge capacity. Over time, batteries can lose accuracy due to usage and aging. Calibration synchronizes the device’s software with the battery’s capabilities, improving battery life estimates and preventing unexpected shutdowns.

If you notice differences between displayed battery percentage and actual performance, calibration can often resolve these issues.

Should you see a huge difference between "FULL CHARGE CAPACITY" and "DESIGNED CAPACITY" in the battery report, perform battery calibration on your Razer Blade.

Below are the steps to perform battery calibration.

  1. Fully charge your Razer Blade.

  2. Go to "Power" settings then adjust both the "On battery power, turn off my screen after" and "On battery power, put my device to sleep after" options to "Never".

  3. Unplug the power adapter and let your Razer Blade idle until the battery drains completely.

  4. Charge your Razer Blade until it reaches 100%. Avoid using it for accurate calibration.

  5. Check the battery report. Ensure full charge capacity closely matches design capacity. See How to get a Battery Report and create an Energy Report from a Razer Blade for instructions.

Important: Battery capacity is the duration a device can operate on a fully charged battery. Over time, all batteries gradually lose capacity and lifespan. Be aware that every time the battery is charged and discharged, its capacity decreases.

A slight difference (typically within 10%) is expected and not a defect.

  6. Repeat the calibration process every few months to maintain accuracy and address performance discrepancies.
