Note: It is not necessary to run through all the troubleshooting steps. Once the issue is fixed after performing a particular set of steps, you can stop there.
-
Ensure your Razer device's drivers are up to date.
-
Ensure your Razer Synapse software is up to date.
-
For Razer Synapse 2.0, refer to How to manually check for updates on Razer Synapse 2.0.
-
For Razer Synapse 3 and Razer Synapse 4, refer to How to manually check for updates in Razer Synapse.
-
-
Ensure Windows is up to date. See How to get the latest software and driver updates from Windows.
If you just updated Windows, please install the "Optional updates" under Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options.
-
Ensure the Razer device is plugged in directly to the computer and not on a USB hub. Connect the Razer device to a different USB port if it is already directly plugged into the computer.
-
For Razer keyboards with two USB connections, ensure both of them are plugged directly into the computer.
-
For PC, use the USB port at the back.
-
-
(If you are not experiencing Chroma lighting not syncing issue, skip to step 8.) Check if you are using the same Razer Synapse version for all the Chroma-enabled devices and they have the same Chroma features.
-
Razer Synapse 2.0-exclusive devices will not sync with Razer Synapse 3, and vice versa.
-
The Razer Synapse devices need to have the same features to sync properly (for example, a mouse without the "Starlight" lighting effect will not sync with a keyboard that has the "Starlight" lighting effect).
-
Enable the in-game Chroma lighting in Razer Synapse 3 under the "CHROMA APPS" tab.
-
-
(If you have no issue with macro keys, skip to step 8.) Verify if an actual macro command is assigned to the key. Note that the dedicated macro keys found on Razer keyboards are not associated with any keyboard command by default.
-
Check if you have assigned a macro command to a key properly. Keep the macro simple and short.
-
For Razer Synapse 3 and Razer Synapse 4, refer to How to create or delete macros on Razer Synapse.
You can also test the device on another computer and attempt to assign the macro to an available known working key.
-
-
Disable or exit Razer Synapse in the system tray.
-
Restart your computer and test your device again.
-
Test the device on another PC without Razer Synapse.
-
Perform a clean installation of Razer Synapse if the device works without Razer Synapse installed.
