Spotify music cuts out when listening with Bluetooth headset or speaker on the Razer Phone

This answer provides the steps on how to resolve issues when the Spotify music cuts out when listening with Bluetooth headset or speaker on the Razer Phone.

 

If you are experiencing this issue, follow the steps below:

Note: Before you proceed, ensure the Razer Phone is up to date.  

  1. Play audio files stored in the Razer Phone and observe. If the issue no longer exists, this is due to slow internet connection.

  2. If the issue persists, go to "Settings" > "Connected Devices" > "Bluetooth".

  3. Select your Bluetooth headset or speaker and then select "forget the connection".

  4. Re-pair the device with your Bluetooth headset/speaker.

  5. If the issue persists, go to "Settings" > "Apps & Notifications".

  6. Select "Spotify". You may have to tap "See All" to locate Spotify.

  7. Tap "Data Usage" and enable "Background Data".

  8. Go to "Settings" > "Battery".

  9. Tap the 3 vertical buttons on the top-right of the screen and select "Battery optimization".

  10. Locate and tap "Spotify".
  11. Select "Don't optimize" and tap "DONE".

  12. Locate and tap "Bluetooth MIDI Service" and select "Don't Optimize".

  13. If the issue has not been resolved, boot into safe mode.

  14. If the issue still persists, factory data reset the Razer Phone.
