Step-by-step process
Note: For the Razer Blade 14” Intel 6700HQ (2016) | RZ09-01952, download the firmware updater and follow onscreen instructions.
-
Ensure Windows is up to date. See How to get the latest software and driver updates from Windows.
If you just updated Windows, please install the "Optional updates" under Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options.
-
Update your graphics drivers. Your device may have either or both Intel and NVIDIA graphics drivers installed. Consult your product manual for more information.
-
Keep your laptop's air vents clean and clear from obstructions. Rest your device on solid flat surfaces to maximize airflow along the vents.

-
Use canned air to dislodge any dust buildup that may be clogging the vents.
-
Differentiate between fan noise and other noise.
- Open Razer Synapse and go to "PERFORMANCE".
- Select Balanced Mode.

- Set the Fan Speed to Manual and lower the fan speed to low.
- Check if the noise still exists.
-
Adjust the fan speed via Razer Synapse. Not all Razer Blade models allow the option to control fan speed. Different models may have different fan control options.
Note: Lowering the fan speed may result in higher temperatures. For detailed instructions, check out How to adjust the fan speed on the Razer Blade.
-
Reduce system load by closing applications that you are not using. Remember to save any unsaved work in those programs.
-
Close any suspicious processes that may be slowing your system via Start Menu > Task Manager > Processes. Right-click on any suspicious process and select “End task”.

Note: Some processes may be essential to your system and closing them may make your system unstable. Doing your own research is advised.
-
Consider doing a system recovery or factory reset if the above steps did not resolve the issue.
