How to create a custom surface profile in Razer mice with no “Custom” option in Razer Synapse

| Answer ID: 400
This article provides steps on how to create a custom surface profile in Razer mice with no “Custom” option in Synapse.

Effective February 3, 2026, Razer Synapse 3 will no longer receive updates or support cloud services. After this date, cloud syncing of configurations across PCs using the same Razer ID will be disabled.

Note: Your installed devices will continue to be configurable in Razer Synapse 3. However, if you uninstall these devices completely, you will need to upgrade to Razer Synapse 4 to continue customization.

Download Razer Synapse 4 and migrate your existing Razer Synapse 3 profiles using the Profile Migration Tool to retain access to your configurations. See How to migrate your Razer Synapse 3 Profile to Razer Synapse 4 for instructions.

Some Razer mice will not have "Custom" listed in the Surface Calibration menu within Razer Synapse because they are equipped with sensors that do not allow customized calibration. However, Razer Synapse provides surface profiles based on our line of gaming mouse pads to approximate the surface that they are using.

Choose a software

Razer Synapse 4

  1. Ensure your mouse is supported by Razer Synapse 4.
  2. Open Razer Synapse 4.
  3. Select the mouse you want to calibrate.
  4. Click on "CALIBRATION" and select "ADD A SURFACE".
  5. Choose a Razer mouse pad closest to the surface that you are using the mouse on.
  6. Click “ADD”.
  7. Adjust the “LIFT-OFF RANGE” as desired.

Note: The mouse mat surface calibration settings differ on some devices.
