Razer Cortex is unable to launch

This article shows how to troubleshoot the Razer Cortex that is not launching.

 

A software issue can cause your Razer Cortex not to launch. To resolve this problem, uninstall then reinstall your Razer Cortex software.

To uninstall Razer Cortex:

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Enter "Add or remove programs", and click the search result.

  3. Type "Cortex" in the search box under "Apps & features", .

  4. Click "Razer Cortex", then select "Uninstall". You will be informed that the app and all its related info will be uninstalled.
  5. Select "Uninstall".

  6. Click "Yes" when you are prompted by the User Account Control. 
  7. Select "UNINSTALL". when the Razer Gaming Software window pops up.

  8. Check "RAZER CORTEX" from the list then click "UNINSTALL".

  9. Select "YES, REMOVE" in the succeeding window.

  10. Click "CLOSE" once the uninstallation is completed.

To reinstall the latest version of Razer Cortex:

  1. Visit the Razer Cortex page and click "DOWNLOAD NOW".

  2. Run the downloaded installer named "RazerCortexInstaller.exe".

  3. Click "Yes" when you are prompted by the User Account Control. 
  4. Check "RAZER CORTEX" on the list of software to install on the Razer Gaming Software window, then click "INSTALL".

  5. Wait for a few minutes for Razer Cortex to download and install.
  6. Click "GET STARTED!" to launch the software once you have successfully reinstalled Razer Cortex..

If Razer Cortex is still unable to launch after the steps above, collect your Razer Cortex logs by referring to the article How to get Cortex logs. Once collected, contact Customer Support and send them the collected logs.
